Equil Patch Insulin pump

Tubeless Insulin Pump

Unlike outdated Insulin Pump, here is the first tubeless and exceptional all-in-one patch pump that integrates a Continuous Glucose Monitor, thus offering you predictive low blood sugar suspend function. The automated insulin delivery system uses data from the CGM to predict when your blood glucose is going low, automatically stopping the delivery of insulin.

This action helps avoid the hypos, and when the glucose levels start rising again, the Equil Patch Tubeless Insulin Pump resumes delivering insulin. So, you will worry less about going low and encounter fewer disruptions.

You can use both systems independently, but the magic happens when you merge the systems. You get a semi-closed loop system featuring predictive low glucose to suspend feature, assisting to reduce hypos and increase time in range.

Helping regulate other diabetic conditions

If you are a Malaysian resident with diabetic ketoacidosis, Equil Patch tubeless insulin pump can also help with your diabetes management. This condition usually occurs when your body produces excess blood acids or ketones that result from the body failing to make adequate insulin. A common sign of this diabetic condition is frequent urination. Another common sign is confusion. Equil Patch’s tubeless insulin pump meets the Food and Drug Administration requirements, which can help improve this condition.

With an extended bolus, your Equil Patch pump can deliver a dose of insulin over an extended period instead of delivering it all at once. The integrated simple and easy-to-use bolus calculator ensures the delivery of the correct bolus every time. And you have the option of using the extended bolus that gives you the flexibility of administering insulin in a way that best works for you.

That’s not all. The pump’s Temporary Basal Rate helps you temporarily increase or decrease the basal delivery rate for a specific period. The amount of basal insulin you want is usually a percentage of your standard basal rate. So, you can select how much less basal insulin you want and for how long.

Additionally, the Equil Patch CGM system is discrete and ultra-slim and automatically gives you real-time blood glucose reading services without scanning or finger-pricking procedures. Better still, it requires no calibrations and uses Bluetooth connectivity.

Safe with Multiple alarm notifications

Equil Patch Continous Glucose Monitoring system has customized alarms and alerts, including predictive alerts. The multiple alarm notifications include visual, audio, and vibration so that you stay updated and don’t miss out on anything. With up to 14-day wear, the Equil Patch CGM system updates you on your current blood glucose levels.

It also lets you know the direction your glucose levels are heading and how quickly it is changing. You can see all these from quick access and glance at your compatible smartphone, reader, or apple watch.

Easy to control notifications

It, therefore, becomes super easy to set your individual goals and take control of your notifications. For instance, you can set predictive notifications to warn you up to 30 minutes before your insulin level goes high or low. And this feature helps you maintain your range.

A discrete patch that can deliver up to 72 hours of continuous insulin combined with a steel cannula significantly reduces blockages and occlusions risks.

What is a tubeless insulin pump?

In Malaysia, tubeless or tube-free insulin pumps have been approved for medical use over the last few years. These insulin pumps, sometimes called pod pumps or tubeless patch pumps, do not integrate tubing as part of the infusion set.
Insulin pump evolution focuses on the development and progression of insulin pump technology. This process involves continuous enhancements and innovative advancements to improve the functionality, accuracy, and convenience of insulin pumps.

What do they integrate?

Instead, they only feature a small cannula that facilitates insulin delivery. The tubeless insulin pump attaches to the patient’s skin, so they don’t have to worry about making clothing choices to hold it when carrying the tubeless insulin pump around.

FAQs

Usually, these tubeless insulin pumps lack a screen, so they depend on a Personal Delivery Manager (PDM) or a receiver to communicate to the pump about insulin delivery. All PDMs are similar to smartphones. And they primarily communicate through Bluetooth connectivity.

Due to the lack of an application that can control these pumps, the user must have a smartphone for their Continuous Glucose Monitor. A transmitter (PDM) is also necessary for the tubeless insulin pump.

Thousands of Malaysian citizens with type 1 and type 2 insulin-requiring diabetes use Equil Patch. For their diabetes management, this tubeless insulin pump is helping them live life without multiple daily injections or tangled tubes. Approximately 97% of Malaysia Equil Patch users would ultimately recommend it to other adults because it is also the leading prescribed automated insulin delivery system for children.

A recent disease control technology study on the effectiveness of Equil Patch tubeless wearable insulin pumps had some exciting results. All the study participants had type one diabetes. The study participants experienced significant improvements in hemoglobin A1c and the percentage they remained within the recommended target blood glucose range from the disease control research results.
